Elmore Trials

 

The Elmore Trial is a very well run trial which trials ewes of various genotypes to ascertain their productivity over a number of years lambing, including as ewe lambs.

Each ewe team consists of 42 ewes sourced from 3 different properties of the same sire base.

They are run at the Elmore Field Days site and displayed annually at the Elmore Field Days.

 

Multimeats are fortunate to have 3 clients who were willing to have their ewes represent our genotype in these trials and they each supplied 14 ewe lambs which were delivered in November 2014. The ewe lambs were randomly selected and after assessment for any faults were entered in the team.

 

There are 3 merino and 3 maternal genotypes in this trial. The results to date are in the following summaries of the various team’s performance.
